There are many benefits to installing solar panels on your home, including reducing air pollution, lowering energy bills, and limiting dependency on non-renewable resources. Solar panels can also create opportunities for solar benefits through local power companies. Homes with solar panels can also benefit from federal tax rebates and rebates through local energy companies for supplying additional power to the grid.

Solar panels may not be suitable for every home. For example, homes with slate, wood, or clay tiles are not ideal for solar; however, asphalt, metal, and tile shingles work great for solar panel installation. Standing metal panels are probably the most ideal for mounting solar panels, but it does not mean you need a new roof before doing so.
Your roof should also be less than 15 years old, large enough to house at least one 15 square foot solar panel, and have a mid-slope that isn’t too steep or too flat. Sleep pitches and flat roofs can complicate the installation and mounting of solar panels and are not recommended. Lastly, your roof should be south-facing and free of shade to allow for at least 5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight to get the most out of your solar panels.
This really depends on the type of roofing you have installed and how long it has been since installation. A general rule for asphalt shingle roofs is about 15-30 years, though this may vary depending on climate conditions such as wind or sun exposure which can cause damage over time without proper maintenance.
Most of our roofing jobs are completed in one or two days. We are dedicated to getting your roof repaired or replaced in no time at all, so you can get back to your life, free of disruption.
